Beyonce's "Beyonce"

Beyonce beat the system with the unexpected drop of her fifth, self titled album, which shocked the internet, the media and music fans alike. Although B's team had recently told us to expect an album soon, (Ne-Yo almost ruined the surprise as well), no one suspected it would happen this soon. Her unconventional marketing strategy was executed to perfection, and she successfully dodged a leak, which is rare if not impossible these days.

This record breaks numerous barriers. Bey has dubbed it a "visual album", first of all. For a clearer understanding of her offering, watching the 17 videos is a necessity, which have the effect of a short art film when viewed in sequence. It's crazy to think of the amount of effort this must've required.

Full of high-res, picturesque visuals, Beyonce's perfectionist nature is certainly clear, each frame unfolding with beautiful intricacy. Her acting skills are versatile - on "Pretty Hurts", she channels TLC while playing a beauty pageant contestant struggling with the pressure. This is completely contrasted by the anthemic "***Flawless", whereupon Bey's edgy, wild attitude is accentuated by monochrome visuals. She changes up the feel on each song, taking the concept of a "music video" to the next level with this artistic feast for the eyes.

The videos are accompanied by a new, unexpected sound. Bey has progressed by leaps and bounds, having developed a contemporary R&B sound all her own. This is not our typical Bey, and the album will no doubt remain an anomaly in her discography.

Beyonce's choice taste in featured artists is on-point as well. Including Drake and Frank Ocean on this record shows a deliberate effort to make an impact on a new and upcoming generation of music.

You do not have to check the credits to know that Pharrell helped write the funky track "Blow". The same goes for the sounds of Drake's friend and go-to producer Noah "40" Shebib on the amazing track "Mine". Also included on this talented list is Justin Timberlake , James Fauntelroy, Sia, The Dream, Miguel and more.

Beyonce’s sound is much more mature than her previous work. This is obvious not only through the bonus visual of “Grown Woman” and hearing flashbacks to her childhood, but also through showing a more sexual side. B has never been so risqué and has often played it safe. Tracks such as “Partition” show this with lyrics such as “Oh he so horny, yea he want to fuck/He popped all my buttons, and he ripped my blouse He Monica Lewinsky-ed all on my gown”. She turns it up more than a notch, and completely owns it.

You'd never think that a superstar like Beyonce has insecurities. But tracks such as "Jealous" and "Pretty Hurts" make her relatable in so many ways, as she admits that "perfection is the disease of a nation". This is contrasted by her pride as a mother on "Blue", dedicated to her daughter, and her pride of her success, owning the females in R&B as she tells them "bow down, bitches". On "****Flawless", Mrs. Carter exposes sides of her we've never seen before.

This project proves that Beyonce remains an unstoppable force in R&B music, and perhaps in music in general. It's bursting with creativity, and the all encompassing visuals are an extraordinary move in a time when audio is often more important than video.

She's developed a progressive new sound of her own, and you will grow to love it more and more after repeated listens.

It goes without saying that Queen B has produced one of the best albums of her career here.

Babe Cool Compensated Over Centenary Park Shooting

Kampala High Court awards renowned artist Moses Ssali alias Bebe Cool damages amounting to UGX 380 million following his shooting three years ago by a police officer.

The award is to cover up general damages that he suffered when he was shot at by Anthony Achikan.

Initially, Bebe Cool who sustained serious broken limbs demanded for UGX 800 million to cover loss of income for a period of 9 to 12 months when he claimed he was hospitalized and later confined to a wheel chair. He says during the period, he was forced to cancel concerts which would have earned him that much.

He also claimed that he was engaged in promoting companies like MTN (U), Century Bottling Co Ltd and that he would earn UGX 2 million per week from the activity.

Further, the reggae star claimed that at the time of the shooting, he was to produce 16 songs in preparation for his album launch and that this album was expected to earn him between UGX 1.8 billion and UGX 2.5 billion.

However in his judgment, Justice Benjamin Kabiito noted that Bebe Cool did not adduce any evidence in court to show that he lost such an income. He however awarded him UGX 380 million as general damages for the personal injuries he suffered.

Kelly Rowland confirms that she's engaged

While the rumors have been circulating, it’s been confirmed by Kelly Rowland herself, that she is engaged!

Kelly confirmed her new engagement while being a guest on "The Queen Latifah Show" Monday afternoon. The lucky man in her life is her manager and best friend Tim Witherspoon. When asked, Kelly admitted “He put a ring on it".

Many people didn't even know she was dating, let alone getting engaged. The 32- year old singer has kept her relationship very private for years. “We’ve kept it very, very low—for years, to be completely honest.”

The two decided it was the right time while skyping on the internet. She was in Bulgaria when Tim popped the question on Skype. “He asked me first on Skype and I was like, ‘We’re so far away from each other,’” said Kelly.

“But it was so late, I remember we were both just kinda like, honestly, just staring at each other. And he asked me, and it was just that simple to say yes. I was like, ‘I got my best friend to ride through life with.’ He really is my best friend.”

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug tops US box offic

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug has
topped the US box office, taking $73.7m
(£45m), according to initial estimates.
But it was down on the first Hobbit instalment,
which took $84.6m (£51m) in its opening
weekend last year.
Dan Fellman, president of domestic
distribution at Warner Bros admitted the
takings "could have been a little better".
He said bad weather in the east of the country
"probably took a couple million dollars out of
my pocket".
"But our box office will survive. We are right
on target to do very similar numbers to the
last Hobbit, which grossed $1bn (£613m)
worldwide [overall]," he said.
Disney animation Frozen moved down into
second place taking $22.2m (£13m) in its third
weekend. The film has made $164.4m (£100m)
in the US since its release.
Tyler Perry's A Madea Christmas came in third
place with $16.2m (£9.9m). Box-office analyst
Paul Dergarabedian said he thought bad
weather would also have affected the film's
takings as Perry's films normally open in the
$20m (£12m) range.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, was in
fourth place with $13.2m (£8m).
Catching Fire has now grossed $739.9m
(£453m), surpassing the box office total for
the first film which took $691m (£423m).
Thor: The Dark World remained in the top five
with $2.7m (£1.6m), bringing its US domestic
haul to $198.1m (£121m).
In sixth place was Out of the Furnace, starring
Christian Bale and Casey Affleck, taking $2.3m
(£1.4m) in its second weekend.
Disney comedy Delivery Man, starring Vince
Vaughn, was at seven in its fourth weekend,
with Philomena at eight ahead of The Book
Thief.
Homefront, starring Jason Statham and James
Franco, rounded out the top 10.
David O Russell's American Hustle opened in
just six locations but took $690,000
(£422,000). It will be on general release in the
US on 1 January.
As the year draws to a close Dergarabedian
said the yearly box office total looked like it
will eclipse 2012's $10.8bn (£6.6bn) box
office record.

Nelson Mandela death: Entertainment world pays tribute to Mandela

The news of the death of Nelson Mandela
broke during a royal gala screening of the
biographical film Long Walk to Freedom in
London.
The screening was attended by Prince William
and the Duchess of Cambridge, as well as two
of Mandela's daughters.
Idris Elba, who plays the former leader in the
film, called it an "honour to step into the
shoes of Nelson Mandela".
Prince William, who attended the screening,
said the news was "extremely sad and tragic".
The film is based on Mandela's autobiography,
published in 1995, and recounts his life from
his childhood, through his 27 years behind
bars, mostly in Robben Island prison, to
becoming South Africa's first black president in
1994.
Two of Mandela's daughters - Zindzi and
Zenani - were at the screening at the Odeon in
Leicester Square when they were told of the
death of their father.
Although they left the cinema, they insisted
that the film continue. Producer Anant Singh,
who Mandela personally awarded the book
rights to, announced the death at the end of
the screening, and asked for a moment of
silence.
British actor Elba later said: "What an honour
it was to step into the shoes of Nelson
Mandela and portray a man who defied odds,
broke down barriers, and championed human
rights before the eyes of the world. My
thoughts and prayers are with his family.''
Also at the screening was Hollywood producer
Harvey Weinstein, whose film company is
behind the movie. "We count ourselves
unspeakably fortunate to have been immersed
in Nelson Mandela's story and legacy," he said.
"It's been an honour to have been granted
such proximity to a man who will go down as
one of the history's greatest freedom fighters
and advocates for justice.
"I have had the privilege of spending time with
President Mandela and I can say his sense of
humour was as great as his optimism.''
'Saint'
Morgan Freeman, who played Mandela in
Invictus, joined in the mass of tributes from
the entertainment world: "Today the world lost
one of the true giants of the past century,"
said Freeman.
"Nelson Mandela was a man of incomparable
honour, unconquerable strength, and
unyielding resolve - a saint to many, a hero to
all who treasure liberty, freedom and the
dignity of humankind."
American actor Dennis Haysbert portrayed
Mandela in 2007's Goodbye Bafana, about the
relationship between Mandela and his prison
officer.
Haysbert said: "Portraying Nelson Mandela...
was a defining moment in my life and my
career. We as a society, have been blessed to
live in a time that Nelson Mandela has lived,
loved, and led.
"What he has done for his country, his
countrymen, and everyone on this planet may
not be achieved again. Ever. I will always
honour him as a saint.''
Music producer Quincy Jones said: "Today, as
it did while he inhabited our planet, Nelson
Mandela's spirit truly soars with the angels.
"It was a spirit born of a generosity, love,
compassion and hope for mankind that may
never exist at such a heightened level in any
single human being again. One of the most
profound honours that I have had in my life
was to be able to call Madiba my friend and
brother."
And singer Aretha Franklin said "a great man
has passed on and moved on up a little
higher".
She added: "Most extraordinarily was how he
rose above his being imprisoned and exalted
himself above apartheid and hatred to unite
the country - an unbelievable example of
humanitarianism and courage."
Jerry Dammers of The Specials fame wrote the
song Free Nelson Mandela in 1984, under The
Special AKA moniker, as a protest at Mandela's
incarceration.
Dammers said: "I met him very briefly twice. I
found myself part of the mob that surrounded
him, wherever he went after his release from
prison, which must have been quite hard for
him, but his endless positivity meant he always
remained incredibly good-natured, friendly
and smiling
"One thing that inspired me to write the song
Free Nelson Mandela was his statement, that
any attempt to get rid of apartheid was
welcome.
"In other words, whether your actions appear
to have any instant effect or not, every little
bit helps.
U2 frontman Bono collaborated with Mandela
on charity issues including poverty in South
Africa, as well being a vocal campaigner for his
release from prison.
He said: "It was as if he was born to teach the
age a lesson in humility, in humour and above
all else in patience.
"In the end, Nelson Mandela showed us how to
love rather than hate, not because he had
never surrendered to rage or violence, but
because he learnt that love would do a better
job.
"Mandela played with the highest stakes. He
put his family, his country, his time, his life
on the line, and he won most of these
contests.
"Our eyes were opened to so much because of
him."

Chris Brown's Attempt To Bring Weed To Rehab, Was Denied

Another new development in the never-ending Chris Brown antics. Breezy was sentenced to a 90-day rehab stint following his recent probation hearing for the Rihanna case. The singer was ordered to enroll in a live-in anger management facility by the judge, on the recommendation of the Probation Dept.

TMZ reports that Chris willingly surrendered his phone and laptop when entering the anger management facility, however, he was hard-pressed to let go of his weed. Chris reportedly told the staff that the marijuana was doctor-prescribed for his depression, but the staff still rejected his request to bring weed in. The singer also said that the weed makes him calm, but the staff wouldn't budge.

This rehab session follows on the heels of another one, which Chris was kicked out of after just 16 days for a fit of rage, where he allegedly threw a rock through his mom's car window. Let's hope this round goes more smoothly for him.

Michelle Obama's Biggest Fashion Regret? Wearing Shorts

Michelle Obama has become known for her fantastic, unique sense of style. Whether it's an affordable dress from Target or a stunning Jason Wu gown, the first lady's sartorial choices are typically lovely and well-suited for her body type and personality.

That said, there is one item she wishes she'd never worn in public: shorts.

On Tuesday, Obama was a guest on BET's "106 & Park" and an audience member asked her about her biggest fashion regret.

"I am kind of always happy with what I'm wearing, I think," she said. "Sometimes I forget I'm the first lady and I'm running around in shorts. I know the first time we went on a family vacation, I had shorts on getting off of Air Force One and that created a huge stink because people were like, 'She's wearing shorts getting off of Air Force One!' And I thought, 'What We're on vacation!' It was hot!" She added, "So I've avoided shorts getting off of Air Force One." Obama is referring to Aug. 16, 2009, when she went on a family trip to the Grand Canyon. It was the hottest month of the summer, and while the first lady has a penchant for sweet sundresses, a bouncy frock may not have been comfortable to wear at the notoriously windy national park.

Instead, she opted for shorts; a tank top with an open, button down shirt; and sneakers. Should she have worn pants to avoid having her photo taken in shorts? Opted for a longer pair? Because of all the fuss that was made, Obama said she's steered clear of wearing shorts ever since.

But some stylists have defended her style choice. "A love of fashion means never having to say you're sorry," celebrity stylist and fashion expert Robert Verdi tells Yahoo Shine.

"Michelle Obama is like our mom and she’s on vacation. I don't think she should get flack for it. [She] has been able to do so much for emerging designers and for moms who want to feel great. She has some normalcy, but she always puts herself together and that's. inspiring.”

The first lady's outfit is admittedly more casual than most ensembles worn by former first ladies, but Obama seems to be more relaxed than her predecessors.

She certainly stuns in elegant formal attire when the occasion calls for it, but she also feels comfortable letting her guard down and wearing more casual garments. Unlike some previous first ladies who exclusively wore designer outfits, Obama stands out for wearing big chain retailers like H&M, the Gap, and Talbots.

Celebrity stylist June Ambrose refers to the first lady as a style pioneer. “She's bought grace, sass and class to the White House!

Women from around the world are breaking rules because of her daring approach [to fashion].

" If you're still not convinced that the first lady is down to earth, there's more proof. Another audience member asked her what she missed most about her life before moving into the White House.

"I long to walk out that front door, go to CVS, and buy some toothpaste and nobody would notice me," said Obama.

She's tried sneaking out in a baseball cap in the past but says it's getting increasingly harder not to be recognized.

KANYE WEST: I'm not going to mention Barack Obama

Kanye West won't mention Barack Obama's name ever again and thinks the President of the United States of America only mentions him to be popular with the youth.

The 36-year-old rapper has been criticised by the President of the United States of America on numerous occasions but Kanye claims Barack only talks about him to get in touch with the younger generation.

He told Philadelphia-based radio station 107.9 FM: ''I just think that we're pop icons, and the President likes to use that type of thing just to be down [popular].

''People were fine with me being everyone'spunching bag for about five years - 'This is the person we love to hate, so if you want to distract people from everything that's going on... just say you hate Kanye and there's going be 30 other people who say they hate Kanye.' That was kind of my position in culture and he kind of used that too - 'Oh, he's a jackass' - because that's how the world felt.

''I'm not going to mention him anymore, I'm past that, that's out my thoughts. That's lowering my priority of thinking at this point.'' Kanye - who has five-month-old daughter North with Kim Kardashian - doesn't care about the Barack's status in America.

He added: ''I don't care if someone's the president or not. I care about thoughts and how you are helping people and what you bring to the world.''

Harry Styles crushes on Miley Cyrus

Harry Styles has been sending Miley Cyrus flirty text messages since they met at the VMA awards in August.

The One Direction womaniser is said to have set his sights on the 'Wrecking Ball' singer after her wild antics and racy Twerking at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) in August, striking up a flirty text relationship with her.

A source told the Daily Star newspaper: ''It's no secret in Harry's circle he's obsessed with Miley. It started when she cheekily pinched his bum at the VMA awards. Afterwards he made a few jokey comments about her on TV and then dressed up as her for Halloween.

''So he decided to message her to make sure she wasn't offended by any of his remarks or actions. She wasn't - and they've been texting since.''

The 'Story Of My Life' hitmaker, who has previously dated Taylor Swift and TV presenter Caroline Flack - has been in constant contact with Miley and plans to party with her when he visits Los Angeles this December.

The insider added: ''He cheekily asked her, 'Can I come and drive your Maserati [car] sometime? And naturally he also reminded her they are both currently single, which is very typical of him and his flirty ways.''

Harry donned a nude-coloured bikini for Halloween to impersonate Miley and her infamous VMAs performance with Robin Thicke, and the 'Wrecking Ball' singer was impressed with the 19-year-old star's courage to bare all.

She said at the time: ''I think Harry might have been one of my favourites. Those shorts were very revealing. Much more revealing and aggressive than my costume; I'm just saying!''

Alleged Chidinma sextape: Singer says she's still a virgin

First female winner of MTN Project Fame West Africa, Chidinma has vehemently debunked an alleged sextape of her making the rounds on social media platforms.

The said tape showed a lady, with a striking resemblance of the singer, having a vigorous sex with a man.

Reacting to the development, the 'small but mighty' singer said she isn't the lady in the video and wondered why someone would go that far to spoil her name.

She however threatened to sue those who posted the story on blogs.

"I didn’t make any sex tape o, I have no idea where that tape is from and I am still a virgin o," Chidinma said.

Meanwhile, the person who uploaded the said video on the internet is still at large.

AKON: Monogamy is stupid

Akon believes the idea of a man having one woman for all of eternity is ridiculous and not realistic -- and if women could just accept that, there would be far less domestic disputes.

"Women aren't built to mate with more than one party ... men are."
He adds, "As a male, we're natural breeders by nature" and women need to take more time to understand how men are built.

"At the end of the day as a male we are natural breeders by nature. We can't even escape it if we wanted to."

Naked Pics Of Kristen Stewart Hit The Web

Thanks to a creep in a movie theater, we all get to see much more of the innocent Bella Swan.

While Kristen Stewart isn't someone we've been waiting forever to see naked, we don't mind! In the film adaptation of Jack Kerouac's On The Road , directed by Walter Salles, the Twilight star shed her clothes and now we don't have to pay the $12 to see it in theaters.

"It didn't bother me," she said about being naked on screen. "You can do no wrong with [Salles]. He puts so much inside of you. In the four-week rehearsal process, it was okay to ask any question, to bring up any story, to really overanalyze everything and intellectualize everything."

Nollywood actress Cossy Orjiakor insures boobs for $1.6million

Nollywood actress, Cossy Orjiakor who has gained a sensational sex identity is currently a happy woman as she is set to hit another gold mine with her endowment.

The actress was reported to have agreed to a deal to insure her bloated mammary glands for a whooping $1.6million amounting to N256million.

The deal according to source, was introduced to her by an American friend who also dragged Enhanced Silicon Inc. responsible for insuring breasts of famous foreign celebrities into the deal.

The company, which insured the bosóms of Pamela Anderson and Dolly Parton agreed to the deal just before Cossy’s recent birthday bash, where she displayed her endowments for the world to see.

The booby actress will be travelling to Los Angeles in two weeks to sign
on the dotted lines. “I specifically asked for $1.6 million,” Cossy was quoted as saying.

As part of the deal awaiting her signature, there will be limits on how many men and women who would touch her bósoms each month. Also, the bósoms have all been given names and must now be treated as people in future movie roles. That means that Enhanced Silicon Inc. will determine how much a movie producer will pay each bosóm for an appearance in a movie. “The downside of the deal is that I may get dressed’, Cossy added.

Cossy seems pretty excited about the deal.

KIM KARDASHIAN HITS BACK AT CLAIMS SHE BELONGS TO A CULT

Kim Kardashian has hit back at 'claims' she belongs to a cult.

Earlier this week, Kim celebrated her friend Brittn Gastineau's birthday by posting a collage- which some claimed resembled the Illuminati, that use shapes to represent the all- knowing evil eye and Satan.

The collage featured an eye shaped photograph inside a triangle, but Kim took to her Twitter when some questioned she might be a Satanist.

Kim ranted: 'I posted a IG collage for my bff @BrittGastineau & people say its the illuminate! What is the illuminate? A religion?...I'm a Christian.'

'A cult?...not into that sorry! It had an eye on it, which reminded me of Britt bc her company "eye on glam" & reminds me of against evil eye bracelets we wear.'

She added: 'So sorry guys it was just a cool design I saw on one of those IG collage apps.'

However, Kim might soon become a cult of her very own after it was revealed Kanye West is convinced he and Kim will become the most powerful A-list couple in the world.

The 36-year-old rapper wants to be more popular than Jay Z and his wife Beyonce Knowles, who were named the globe's top couple by Vanity Fair magazine last month.

A source told gossip website Radar: 'Kanye has emphatically told Kim that he believes they're going to be the biggest power couple on the planet.'

'He genuinely thinks they will be more popular than his close friends, Jay Z and Beyonce. The Blood On The Leaves hitmaker, who has a four-month-old daughter, North, with Kim, has been helping the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star to revamp her image and is taking tips from Beyonce.'

The source said: 'It's one of the reasons why Kanye told Kim to change her hair colour, he thinks it elevated Kim from just being a reality star to an international superstar.'

'Beyonce is very selective with how she presents herself in public and social media.'

'Kim is now following in Bey's playbook. Kim only releases very limited pictures of North and those are with Kanye's approval. He's orchestrating it all, behind-the scenes.'

Kim, 33, is allegedly having issues with many of her old friends because they think she has "become so stuck-up" since she started going out with Kanye 20 months ago, and is desperate to become close pals with Beyonce.

The insider said: 'Perhaps Kim thinks she's going to be best friends with Beyonce, but she needs to realise they're not friends and never will be!'

'Beyonce is in a completely different place than Kim, is in a different star zone and they aren't going to be besties or hang out unless it is with their husbands...or at events.'

KANYE CLAIMS KIM KARDASHIAN IS MORE INFLUENCIAL THAN MRS. OBAMA

As Kanye West statements go, it's probably one of his most absurd.
The lovestruck rapper talked up fiancee Kim Kardashian in a new interview in which he claimed the reality star is more influential in terms of style than the First Lady Of The United States Michelle Obama.

He told Ryan Seacrest: 'There's no way Kim Kardashian shouldn't be on the cover of Vogue.

'She's like the most intriguing woman right now. She's got Barbara Walters calling her like everyday,' he said.

And bizarrely he claimed the reason Kim was more influential that Michelle Obama, was because the First Lady could not share a bikini pic like Kim's recent bottom-baring pose in a white swimsuit.

'No one is looking at what [Barack Obama] is wearing. Michelle Obama cannot Instagram a [bikini] pic like what my girl Instagrammed the other day.'

On that point he is right, as we've never seen the First Lady's bottom in a selfie.

While Michelle Obama will clearly not want to take on that challenge, it seems Kanye is still fuming at Kim being persistently overlooked by his friend Anna Wintour for a Vogue covershoot.

The Vogue editrice is a big fan of Michelle Obama, who has been pictured on the cover twice. Vogue describe Mrs. Obama's style as 'bold and unapologetic.'

And she is widely seen as a champion for American fashion designers, bringing new designers like Jason Wu into the fashion spotlight.

'Her approach to dressing has earned her a reputation as something of a fashion maverick-particularly in Washington, D.C., where women have traditionally valued conformity over individuality.'

She herself simply says: 'Women should wear whatever makes them feel good about themselves.'

And while Kim has certainly become something of a cultural phenomenon in recent years, it seems that her influence has not extended to the ivory towers of the fashion bible.

Kanye revealed he was delighted when Kim was chosen to cover CR Fashion Book, the new publication by Former French Vogue editor Carine Roitfe.

'Carine Roitfeld supports my girl. That's a breakthrough,' he explained. 'There's a wall of classism that we are breaking through.'

Maybe the memo hasn't reached Anna Wintour just yet.

During the interview Kanye shared new details of his much-discussed proposal at a baseball stadium in San Francisco.

'The ring was four-hours-old from when I put it on her finger,' he explained, of the 15-carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond band.

'I had to pick it up in LA. I was working on it for a while. I was working on it with four different jewellers. I just put it in my bag.'

Meanwhile Kanye revealed that while he and new fiancé Kim only went public with their love in April 2012, he had his eye on her for much longer.
